Trump Describes the White House as a “Dump”

U.S. President Donald Trump described his official residence, the White House, as having been a “dump” and in deplorable condition, revealing the launch of a project to restore and renovate the historic building and save it from collapse.

Trump revealed via Truth Social that the White House had suffered from neglect by previous presidents, stressing that the building was in poor condition both inside and out, to the point of describing it as a “dump.”

He explained that he spends his free time overseeing the renovation work, praising the efforts being made by the Department of the Interior and construction companies.

Trump attached a series of photos showing the difference between the building’s previous and current condition, noting that its exterior shell had been deteriorating and that its current condition had become better than it was when it was built in 1792.

Trump considered saving this great landmark an honor, stressing that the building would have been destroyed had it not been for the renovation work.

In the same context, The Washington Post recently revealed that Trump plans to spend at least $900 million on construction and development projects within the White House complex.

This amount contradicts Trump’s previous promises, as he repeatedly stated that his project would not cost the public treasury any money, claiming that its funding would rely entirely on sponsors from major corporations, including Amazon, Apple, Booz Allen Hamilton, and Caterpillar.

However, internal documents show that $307 million of the total cost will be provided directly from the federal treasury.

It is worth noting that the White House, the official residence whose construction was envisioned by the first U.S. president, George Washington, began construction in 1792 according to a design by architect James Hoban, after Washington personally selected its site.

Construction of the White House was completed on November 1, 1800, and the second U.S. president, John Adams, moved into it on the same day.
